We were approached by Ka Hana Pono Daycare’s Owner to create an eye-appealing logo that clearly communicates their services and represents Hawaii’s unique culture.
Here’s a short rundown of our logo design process:
- Step 1 – Research – We asked Ka Hana Pono Daycare’s Owner to provide us with as much information about their company as possible. We received a lot of information about this project including “Metaphors That Are Meaningful to Ka Hana Pono Daycare” which helped a lot!
- Step 2 – More Research – After learning more about Ka Hana Pono Daycare, we did our own research on competition and logos.
- Step 3 – Brainstorm – This can take up to a minute and as long as a month (It took about 3 to 4 days in this case)!
- Step 4 – Drafting – Once a concept is confirmed, this step is generally pretty smooth.
- Step 5 – Revisions and Testing – We showed Ka Hana Pono Daycare’s Owner our work. We created black and white, and color versions for testing.
- Step 6 – Big Party – The customer is satisfied and so are we!
Shown below is our first concept:

Here’s our second concept:

The second concept was a winner! The final logo is shown below:
